SOUP KITCHEN IN KUALA LUMPUR

The Soup Kitchen where everyone can have a free lunch was opened on 15 January 2008 in Jinjang. It is a “coffee-shop” for the poor, the jobless, the handicapped and even senior citizens. It will be a place where the needy will find friendship and solace besides the security of a full stomach.

Ms Clarine Chun, the founder of the Soup Kitchen said “The time has come where the needy will never go to bed hungry. The Soup Kitchen in Jinjang will be the first in Kuala Lumpur and we are planning to open two more in 2008. It is our vision that every state in Malaysia should have at least one Soup Kitchen.”

The Soup Kitchen is a community outreach arm of FunGates Superflow Foundation with the objective of meeting the needs of the needy in Jinjang. This is the Foundation’s second Soup Kitchen after the one in Alor Star, which opened in June 2005 and serves about 170 people daily.

The Soup Kitchen is a Mondays to Saturdays feed-the-poor program in a coffee-shop setting, open from 11.15am to 1.30pm. For more information regarding the Soup Kitchen, please contact Ms Angeline at 03-7983 8827
